Terms of Service


Lawful use

Customers shall not use the Internet services provided by GreatCove.net for any unlawful use, including but not limited to the following:
  • Transfer of copyrighted material (music, movies, etc) without the consent of the author
  • Posting or retrieval of illegal pornography
  • Sending of email hoaxes or unsolicited advertisements
  • Willful distribution of viruses 
Not an unlimited or dedicated connection

As with other dial-up Internet services, a GreatCove.net dial-up account is not to be treated as a dedicated connection.  Customers are expected to disconnect from the Internet when nobody is at the computer. Leaving chat, email, or other software running for the purpose of keeping the connection alive is not permitted.

The company which provides local access numbers for our service monitors account usage and reserves the right to terminate or disable an account in which any the following are true:
  • The customer spends more than 15 hours online in a single day
  • The customer spends more than 450 hours online in a month
  • There is evidence that the customer fails to disconnect when the computer is not in use.
These limitations are beyond the control of the management of GreatCove.net.   Therefore, customers whose needs are not in compliance with these guidelines should consider other Internet service.

Technical Support

Free, limited telephone support is provided by GreatCove.net to assist the customer with connecting to GreatCove.net, and to perform basic troubleshooting that may be needed.

Some connection issues cannot be resolved by phone support.  These include problems caused by defective modems, phone line noise, and viruses.  In many cases, problems like these will require the services of a local technician hired by the customer.  (Please note: GreatCove.net is owned and managed by Tech One Computer Solutions, a computer service and repair business in Chambersburg, PA.)

Cancellation of service

If a customer elects to cancel service, money prepaid for unused months of service will be refunded to the customer by GreatCove.net.  No refund will be given for the remainder of the current month.

GreatCove.net reserves the right to discontinue service or cancel an account at any time without providing a reason. If this occurs, the customer will still owe any outstanding balances. Any amount customer has prepaid will be refunded on a prorated basis.

Warranty

GreatCove.net provides Internet service “as-is”. No warranties are expressed or implied. GreatCove.net shall not be held responsible for damages arising from the use of our services, nor from the interruption of service. GreatCove.net's liability is limited to the cost of services purchased by the customer.
